Meet the Team

Pet Focussed

Caring & Compassionate

Potter House Vets is an independent, local practice, where we believe the best care comes from a team that works well together. We support one another, share knowledge, and focus on bringing out the best in each other — because that directly benefits the pets we care for.

We offer a wide range of skills in house, allowing many treatments and procedures to be carried out here at the practice. When specialist input is needed, we work closely with trusted peripatetic specialists who visit us, so pets can receive expert care in familiar surroundings.

Clear communication is central to how we work. We take the time to explain diagnoses, investigations, and treatment options, helping owners feel informed and confident in the care their pet receives.

With high-quality equipment, in-house dentistry and behavioural referrals, we’re able to provide thoughtful, reliable care you can trust.

Elliot

Director, Veterinary Surgeon and Official Vet

"I graduated in March 2021 from St George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. My training was split across several institutions, including one year at the University of Nottingham, three years at St George’s, and a final clinical year at the Royal Veterinary College in London. This diverse pathway gave me the opportunity to experience veterinary medicine across a wide range of cultures, environments, and clinical settings.

I began my career in mixed practice, treating everything from rats to reindeer, which I thoroughly enjoyed. In October 2022, I returned home to West Lancashire to focus primarily on domestic pets, although I still occasionally see alpacas, goats, and sheep.

Potter House Vets is a progressive, independent practice committed to delivering high-quality care with compassion. I am incredibly proud of our dedicated team, where each individual brings their own strengths and perspective to the practice.

Clinically, I would describe myself as a “traditional” vet, happy to turn my hand to a wide variety of cases. I particularly value building meaningful relationships with clients and helping to restore confidence in the idea of a trusted local family vet.

Outside of work, I have far too many hobbies and not nearly enough time to pursue them all. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, our two Labradors, and our menagerie of farm animal pets."

Kaylah

Veterinary Surgeon

Kaylah is originally from South Africa but has since lived, studied and worked in a number of countries to bring all her skills and experience to giving her best care to your pets.

She graduated from the University of Environmental and Life Sciences in 2024 as a Veterinary Surgeon, has since worked in a referral eye clinic Poland, a busy mixed practice in rural Ireland and has now settled in the lovely North West to work with small animals. She particularly likes cases involving eyes and trying to deliver excellent care to geriatric patients.

In her free time, you can find her with a good book or knitting and trying out all the local walking routes that have tea and cake places nearby.

Emily

Veterinary Nursing Assistant and Pre-Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist

"I'm Emily and I have an MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour from the University of Lincoln. This qualification allows me to bridge the gap between animal nursing and care with behavioural health and wellbeing. For me, the most rewarding part of my role is understanding a pet’s emotional needs to ensure their vet visits are as stress-free as possible. I am a lifelong learner and recently published a journal article on chasing behaviour in dogs. When I’m not at the practice, I enjoy being active with pilates and running, going to football matches, and looking after my family's Border Collie called Luna. "

Domi

Veterinary Surgeon

"I qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2019 in Lublin, Poland, and have been working in the UK ever since, gaining experience in small animal practice and developing a special interest in both dentistry and surgery. I hold a certificate in veterinary dentistry and particularly enjoy helping improve patients’ comfort and quality of life through dental care, from routine procedures to more advanced treatments, as well as being involved in surgical cases.

Before and during my veterinary studies, I was a professional ballroom dancer, which remains a very special part of my life and an experience I look back on fondly.

Outside of work, I share my home with two Sphynx cats, who always make sure life is interesting and entertaining."

Debbie

Client Care Team/ Nursing Assistant

"Hi, my name is Debbie.
I have worked at Potter House for around 2 years as both a receptionist and as a nurse. I have previously qualified as a Veterinary Nurse and worked in both Small Animal and Equine Hospitals for several years. I then moved into teaching Veterinary Nursing and Animal Care. After several years of teaching, I needed a change and so became a manager of a Rare Breeds Farm, working with farm and small animals.
I have now returned to Veterinary practice and am currently updating my nursing knowledge and skills here at Potter House to re-register on the RCVS Nursing register.
In my spare time I like to spend my time riding my horse or walking my dog and also enjoy travelling and beach holidays."

Sarah

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified as a vet from Nottingham University in 2025, where I started my new graduate job at Potter House. I love the variety of the job, and have a keen interest in surgery. Outside of work, I keep myself busy with running and hiking, and weekend pub trips with my friends.

Client Care Team

"Hello, I’m Ellie and I joined the Potter House client care team at the end of 2025. I absolutely love working with animals and previously had a dog walking and sitting business.

When I’m not in the practice, you’ll find me exploring mountains or National Trust sites with my two spaniels Olive & Reuben, or with my nose in a chunky fantasy book! "
